The Sinking Fane

A half-submerged stone complex slowly being swallowed by the Blackmire bog. Reeds grow through the floorboards and the air is heavy with the scent of stagnant water and ancient decay.

Auntie Gutter-Tongue, a Green Hag, who orchestrates the corruption of the swamp from the deepest chamber. Her influence causes the dungeon's floor to shift and liquefy, making every step treacherous. She seeks to turn the entire region into a lightless bog, using the temple's residual holiness as a battery for her dark rituals.

History

Originally a temple dedicated to the goddess of the harvest, it was corrupted centuries ago by a hag named Auntie Gutter-Tongue. She invoked a curse that caused the ground to liquefy, sinking the temple and its priests into the peat. Now, it serves as a lair for her mud-slicked kin and the restless spirits of those she drowned.
