The Crypt of Cadence
The bones of the damned rattle in the endless corridors to an unheard beat.
Hidden beneath a massive, cracked dais, this subterranean tomb is a masterwork of necromantic acoustics. Every footfall echoes with supernatural clarity, creating a rhythmic pulse that permeates the very stone.
The air is dry and carries a faint scent of old cedar; every step produces a sharp, lingering echo. Pale violet torchlight flickers in time with a low-frequency hum that causes metal equipment to vibrate.
☠ Threat
The Song of the Still Heart is a magical vibration that forces the skeletons to move with terrifying synchronization. This rhythmic field not only animates the dead but seeks to pull the living into its tempo. Adventurers may find their own breathing and heartbeats trying to match the crypt's deadly, 4/4 time signature.
History
Malakor the Mute, a composer who lost his hearing and his mind, built this site to house his choir. He believed that the random sounds of life were an affront to the perfect, rhythmic stillness of death. Using forbidden resonance magic, he turned the crypt into a giant stone instrument designed to keep his followers moving in perpetual, percussive harmony.
