The Bellmaker's Crypt
Blue witchfire trembles in the wall bowls, and every footstep answers from somewhere below.
The Bellmaker's Crypt is a buried mortuary built beneath an abandoned guild quarter, where the dead were preserved with song, salt, and careful craft. Its outer chambers have been disturbed by grave robbers, but deeper sanctums remain guarded by bound undead and a master who still believes the living must join his final choir.
Cold mineral air carries the smells of old wax, wet limestone, and sweet rot. Thin blue witchfire burns in wall bowls, while distant chimes tremble whenever something moves below. Every footstep returns a half-second late, as if another traveler follows.
☠ Threat
Otar Ghez, the Last Bellmaster, rules the deepest vault as a deathless cantor. He commands embalmed guild elders, awakens corpses through resonance, and seeks living voices to complete a funerary chord that will draw every restless dead thing in the surrounding valley into his service. His influence is strongest near the sealed sanctums and weakens when the shrine bells are silenced.
History
The crypt was built by the bellmakers of Kharadze, a guild that crafted mourning bells, embalming tools, and ceremonial locks. They dug beneath their workshop quarter to house wealthy patrons and guild elders, promising that every dead master would be remembered by name. During a famine, guildmaster Otar Ghez turned the funerary choir into a ritual of preservation, binding the honored dead to the bells forever.

Corridor Notes
Small bronze bells hang from black cords at ankle height. Most are tarnished, but one rings softly when undead pass nearby.
The flagstones are set with narrow channels filled by a sluggish stream of dark water. Pale fingerprints mark the dry walls above it.
Funerary plaques line the walls, each bearing a trade symbol instead of a name. Several plaques have been pried loose from the stone.
A low vibration travels through the floor from the sealed boss chamber. It grows stronger whenever the shrine in room 10 is disturbed.
