The Silent Sepulcher
Every footfall echoes like a heartbeat in the house of the dead.
A sprawling subterranean tomb carved into the limestone foundations of an ancient city. Cold mist clings to the floor and the faint smell of ozone lingers in the air near the deeper chambers.
The air is heavy with pungent dust and the rhythmic dripping of water. Flickering violet soul-lamps provide dim illumination, while an unnerving silence masks the scraping of bone against stone.
☠ Threat
Lord Valerius Malvaine, a vengeful Wight, seeks to reclaim his stolen signet ring to restore his mortal power. His presence causes nearby corpses to stir and causes metal objects to chill to the touch as he draws warmth from the living.
History
Built three centuries ago to house the Malvaine dynasty, a lineage of necromancer-lords, this site was intended as a place of eternal study. When the city above was sacked, the tomb was sealed with its guardians still inside to prevent the family secrets from being plundered by the invaders.
Encounter Table
CRLong, chitinous insects that dwell in the cracks between the masonry.

Severed hands that have been reanimated to scavenge for shiny objects.
Rumours & Whispers
The Malvaine signet ring has the power to command the very stones of the tomb.
A secret vault in the sepulcher is filled with more silver than a man can carry in a lifetime.
Do not speak the name of Lord Valerius aloud within the crypt, for he hears through the walls.
The library holds a scroll that can purge the curse from the local lands.
