The Drowned Cellar
Murky water hides what the tavern cellar was meant to bury.
A series of flooded stone vaults located directly beneath the Tipsy Trout tavern. The air is stagnant, and the floor is submerged under two feet of brackish river water.
The sound of rhythmic dripping echoes against wet stone, accompanied by the smell of stagnant mud and rotting wood. Light only reaches the entrance stairs, leaving the rest of the chambers in oppressive darkness.
☠ Threat
A massive, territorial Giant Toad has established its lair in the deepest section of the cellar. This alpha predator, alongside several opportunistic slimes, has turned the cellar into a deathtrap for any tavern staff attempting to retrieve supplies.
History
Originally the private crypt of the Oakhaven family, the tavern above was constructed centuries later to hide the entrance. Recent heavy rains have caused the nearby river to overflow into the old drainage channels, re-flooding the tombs and inviting swamp-dwelling predators into the foundation.
Encounter Table
CRA mass of tiny, biting frogs that boils up from the muddy floor.
A slow-moving pool of acidic slime that blends perfectly with the wet stone.
Rumours & Whispers

The frogs in the cellar have been growing larger ever since the old well went dry.
A shipment of silver tankards was lost in the flood last winter.
