The Choice Annabeth Cannot Undo
Read Aloud
The seven of you stand beneath a bruised sky, Tartarus still clinging to your clothes. Perseus is free, Annabeth is alive, and no one is willing to pretend that means you are whole. Ahead, the road to Terra waits.

NPC Goal
Annabeth wants the party to survive Terra, even if she must lose their trust and her place among them.
Leverage
The party needs Annabeth's route through Terra's defenses, while Annabeth needs Perseus and the others to believe she can still lead.
Player Approaches
- Ask Annabeth what she feared, not whether she was right.
- Ask Perseus what freedom means to him now.
- Force the party to name one thing Annabeth did that saved them.
- Offer Perseus a choice instead of demanding forgiveness.
- Make the next step toward Terra depend on a shared decision.
NPC Gambits
- Separate Annabeth and Perseus for one private exchange.
- Let a party member interrupt blame with a practical question.
- Put the map or mission plan in the center of the group.
- Demand a clear answer: stay together, split up, or delay Terra.
- Have Annabeth surrender command unless the party chooses her again.
NPC Reactions
- A sincere admission lowers the DC by 2 for the next check.
- A demand for obedience causes Annabeth to withdraw and advances the failure clock.
- Perseus defending his own choices earns his respect but makes Annabeth visibly afraid.
- A party member proposing a concrete plan gives the group common ground.
- An accusation that Annabeth betrayed them advances the failure clock unless she answers plainly.
