A wet snarl cuts through the wheel-rut quiet, and wolves rise out of the ditch on both sides of the road. Ahead, something heavy crashes through the scrub and comes straight for the horses. The pack is not hunting food. It is trying to break the road line and scatter you before the gates of the capitol.

The Road
Packed king's road, hard dirt with ruts and a shallow crown. Fastest ground, but nowhere to hide.

The Ditch
Wet ditch and thorny verge. Half cover, bad footing, good for sudden lunges and retreats.

The Scrub Rise
A low rise with scrub and broken stones. The pack starts here, then circles back for another run.
Terrain Levers
- Break the cart lantern to cut sightlines in the ditch
- Spook the draft horse to scatter the pack
- Use the road ditch as cover and a climbable edge
- Shove a wagon wheel or crate into the mud to jam a charging beast
