Whispering Bellflower
The Whispering Bellflower feeds on spoken words and turns them into haunting echoes that confuse and isolate its victims. It is dangerous because ordinary conversation, shouted warnings, and even a startled cry can awaken it.

Detection
“A pale blue flower grows from a crack in the floor, its translucent petals shaped like tiny bells. No breeze moves it, yet it sways whenever someone speaks nearby. Its roots vanish into a mat of silvery veins beneath the stone.”
Standard Engagement
A creature speaks, sings, shouts, or intentionally creates an audible noise within 20 feet of the flower.
The hazard has no routine while inactive. When triggered, it uses Echoing Peal, then becomes inert for 1 minute.
The flower resets after 1 minute, though it does not trigger again until a creature speaks within 20 feet or disturbs its root-veins.
The flower releases a psychic peal. Each creature within 15 feet must attempt a DC 21 Will save. The hazard then becomes inert for 1 minute.
The creature takes 3d6 sonic damage and is stupefied 1 for 1 round.
The creature takes 2d6 sonic damage and is stupefied 1 until the end of its next turn.
The creature takes half damage and is not stupefied.
The creature is unaffected.
The hazard triggers when a creature speaks, sings, or creates a deliberate audible noise within 20 feet. It does not trigger from ordinary movement, thunder, or sounds originating more than 20 feet away.
While within 20 feet of the flower, creatures gain a +2 circumstance bonus to Perception checks that rely on hearing, but auditory effects originating outside the area are muffled and creatures take a -1 circumstance penalty to auditory-based Recall Knowledge checks.
