Basin of the Borrowed Face
The Basin of the Borrowed Face is a magical ward that steals a creature's reflection and replaces it with an image of someone or somewhere emotionally significant. The vision feels intimate and convincing, making the hazard memorable before it lashes out with a psychic compulsion.

Defenses
Detection
“A waist-high stone basin filled with perfectly still water. Reflections in its surface show the viewer standing somewhere else, often in a place they have recently visited or deeply fear.”
Standard Engagement
A creature that looks into the basin from within 10 feet, touches its water, or willingly speaks the name of someone reflected in it.
When triggered, the basin targets the triggering creature if it is within 30 feet and visible to the basin. It uses Borrowed Face, then becomes inert until it resets.
The hazard resets 10 minutes after it is triggered. If its water is removed, it resets and refills after 1 hour unless it has been permanently disabled.
The target must attempt a DC 21 Will save. On a critical success, it is unaffected. On a success, it is temporarily dazzled until the end of its next turn. On a failure, it takes 3d6 mental damage and is stupefied 1 for 1 minute. On a critical failure, it takes 6d6 mental damage, is stupefied 2 for 1 minute, and is fascinated by the basin until the end of its next turn.
The basin can perceive creatures within 30 feet through reflections in its water, polished metal, glass, or still liquid. It cannot perceive creatures that are completely hidden from all reflective surfaces.
A creature that has already been affected by Borrowed Face within the last 24 hours gains a +2 circumstance bonus to its Will save against this hazard. The same creature cannot be affected more than once per hour.
