Remains of the Hunted: Gnoll Demoniac Ambush

After chasing the pack that ambushed a caravan, you find a small clearing strewn with the scattered belongings of people who fled a gnoll demoniac and did not all make it away. The scene smells of smoke and blood. Clothing and personal effects are scattered among gnoll shelters and crude totems. Some goods were taken as trophies by the gnolls, but much remains: family heirlooms, a few trade gems, and the battered equipment they carried when they fled. Among the recovered items you find useful adventuring gear and a few genuine magical items likely looted from the more desperate survivors or taken from a traveling healer. Several items are clearly meant to be returned to surviving kin if the party can trace them. The haul mixes meaningful personal objects and practical treasure appropriate for a level nine party that faced a single demonic-tainted gnoll leader.
