The Tale of This Treasure

By the sloping bank where the tide had left a line of kelp, the party found a damp, knotted bag tucked beneath a rotting rowboat. There was no sign of a struggle and no bodies nearby, only the faint impression of footprints leading toward the dunes. Inside the bag lay a cluster of magical items and valuables that smelled faintly of brine: a space-warping bag whose interior held more than its seams suggested; a mother-of-pearl topped wand; a sea-marked +1 longsword; a protective cloak; two potions for mending wounds; three attractive gems likely plundered from merchant cargo or a smugglers' spoil; and two curious items tied to the shore itself, a pearl that whispers of lost things and a spool of thread treated for coastal use. A small pouch of mixed coin finished the haul. The items feel like they belonged to a traveling mariner or a coastal spellcrafter who vanished in a hurry. The Bag of Holding and the Bag's damp lining suggest someone hid their gear quickly, perhaps to return later. The party can keep the items, sell them to a coastal trader, or investigate where the footprints vanish into the dunes.
