The Tale of This Treasure

After breaching the frozen gatehouse and clearing the collapsed eastern tower of rubble and leavings, the party finds a hidden storage chamber carved into bedrock beneath the keep. The chamber holds practical gear left behind by a garrison that fled years ago plus a few items likely looted from a traveling merchant camp. Among bundled winter cloaks and rope the adventurers recover healing potions and a small trove of valuables: useful magic for continuing exploration, a handful of gemstones and smithing metal likely stripped from an armorer's stores, and an odd local wonder harvested from the keep's damp inner ledges. The loot leans toward gear a mountaintop garrison would prize: reliable supplies, hardy crafting material, and a few enchanted pieces to help the party survive bitter weather and sieges. The Bag of Holding and the Longsword +1 appear to have been hidden in a wagon crate; the Adamantine Scrap looks like it was cut from a damaged set of scale plates. The Echoing Stonemoss is a local oddity kept in a waxed pouch, and it will be especially valuable to scouts and rogues preparing to infiltrate the rest of the keep.
