The Sovereign's Fetid Hoard

The party stands amidst the bubbling sludge of a deep swamp cavern, the air thick with the metallic tang of blood and the sharp sting of acid. The massive form of the Adult Black Dragon lies sprawled across its mound of wealth, its scales still sizzling where its own acidic blood has pooled. Nearby, the broken remains of five elite warriors lie entombed in muck, their armor pitted and ruined by the dragon's breath. Tucked into a corner of the hoard, partially melted and smelling of soot, are the remains of a strange, furred creature carrying a tattered sack, a festive intruder that met a grim end in this dark place. The treasure here is a mix of ancient marsh relics and the dark curiosities gathered by the holiday-stalking Krampus.
