The Tale of This Treasure

After the beholder finally fell, its lair fell silent except for the quiet drip of stale water and the distant echo of collapsing shelves. The creature had organized its hoard carefully: coin and gems in locked chests, items it could wear or use mounted on pedestals, and trophies stuck into the stone walls. Amid the obvious wealth are pieces a clever party can use for future crafting: a preserved eyestalk preserved for study and an orb that still carries a shadow of the beholder's antimagic tendency. Stakes and eyestalks do not function as ready-made weapons in most rules, but these components open story hooks for an artificer or wizard to research. Taken together, the haul is a mix of immediate treasure and longer-term possibilities that should reward the group's combat, investigation, and roleplay choices.
