The Fall of the Umbral Heart

The battlefield is quiet at last. The Corrupted Eldertree has collapsed inward, its blackened bark splitting apart to reveal roots that are slowly turning green again. Beneath the ruined heartwood lies the Umbral Thane's tribute, gathered gemstones, and the remnants of a rootbound shrine. The Vine Blights leave behind little coin or equipment, but their destruction has exposed valuable elderwood and the purified relics hidden within the tree. Among the spoils are a Staff of the Woodlands and an Amulet of Health, both powerful enough to mark this as the conclusion of a major tier-two confrontation. The strangest treasures are the Umbral Heart Pearl and the Seed of the Renewed Heart, which suggest that the battle did not merely destroy the corruption, but left the Heart with a chance to live again.
