The Spoils of the Two-Headed Warband

The battlefield is littered with broken hafts, torn hide, and the dark red paint of Gruumsh's followers. Most of the ordinary orcs carried little beyond their weapons and a few stolen coins, but the Eye of Gruumsh guarded a small reserve of plunder beneath ring mail marked with the one-eyed god's sigil. The ettin's belt held bloodstone trophies and heavy ironwork taken from earlier victims. Among the refuse are enough trade goods and coin to make the victory worthwhile, while the potion and gemstones suggest that the warband had recently raided a better-equipped caravan. The orcish symbols may draw suspicion or hostility if displayed openly, but they could also help identify the larger force this group served.
