The Broken Rune-Wheel Hoard

When Kharuun Veyr, the Rune-Wheel Warden, finally collapses, the stone plates of its body fracture and spill a hidden cache onto the cavern floor. The two earth elementals leave no armor, weapons, or ordinary possessions behind, only chips of elemental stone and the lingering pressure of their magic. The warden's remains reveal coins, guild-marked gemstones, healing draughts, and carefully preserved tools from whatever ancient order once maintained the rune-wheel. Among the valuables are a resonant heartstone shard and a strange tuning dial, both suggesting that the defeated guardian was more than a simple construct or servant. The hoard is valuable enough to reward a party of 3rd-level adventurers without overwhelming them, while the elemental materials offer several paths for future crafting, investigation, or exploration.
