Field of Broken Banners

The party picked over a small clearing where two wild boars and a lone bloodhawk had been surprised amid the debrief of a raiding party. Mud, tripod cooking spits, and torn banners litter the ground. From fallen soldiers and scavenged packs the adventurers recover pocket change and a few modest gems, a common potion of healing wrapped in stained linen, and useful battlefield gear such as a healer's kit and spare arrows. The boars yield a cured hide and a pair of tusks that will fetch a craftsman a few coins or become trophies. The bloodhawk's glossy feather is kept as a token or fletching material. Overall the haul is the kind of mixed, practical spoils a low-level party might gather after skirmishing on a contested road: some ready cash, tradeable gems, a healing potion, and materials that fund small repairs or local favors.
