Webbed Reliquary of the Fallen Shrine

Beneath the crumbling archways of the ancient ruins your party cleared a nest thick with tar-black webs. The giant spider that ruled the chamber fell last, its hide torn and its nest overturned. Among the carcasses of lesser spiders you find the practical spoils of desperate pilgrims and a few private treasures hoarded by the nest: a common potion that will patch up wounds, a handful of gems and an old bronze medallion rescued from the dust, and a small pouch of mixed coinage. A crafty member of the party will notice carefully harvested spider silk and a sealed venom sac tucked into the hollow of a broken statue—useful if you can find an artisan or apothecary willing to work with such dangerous materials. The loot is modest but suitable for a level 1 party exploring forgotten altars and spider-haunted corridors.
