The Spoils of the Broken Black Standard

The battlefield has finally gone quiet. Beneath torn standards and churned mud, the party discovers the remains of a command encampment where Nerull, Ilyra Voss, and Garran Veyl made their last stand. The richest spoils are not piled openly, but hidden among ruined supply wagons, officer's effects, and the remnants of a field shrine. Coin, gemstones, recoverable arms, and magical equipment lie mixed with grim relics of the defeated host. Most of the valuables can be sold immediately, though the command map and the matching sending stones suggest that the battle was only one movement in a larger campaign. The talisman and black-iron shards carry an unsettling sense of unfinished business, as though the battlefield itself has not yet accepted the defeat.
