Battle of the Wayward Cart: Battlefield Spoils

After the skirmish alongside the smashed traveling cart, the party picks through the wreckage and fallen combatants. Five goblins harried the caravan while three knight-soldiers attempted to secure the shipment. The knights put up a stubborn fight but the cart was lost and both sides left valuables strewn across churned earth. You recover mixed coin from pouches and corpses, a soldier's longsword and shield, a dented chain shirt, a useful potion of healing and several merchant goods salvaged from the cart. Among the spoil are three reasonably cut gemstones and some smithing iron taken from broken harnesses. Tucked into a gore-streaked bundle are two curios: a goblin-marked banner woven into a knightly pennon that bears a faint strange power, and a lieutenant's medallion with a hidden notch that helps in tense moments. The haul is practical for repairs, sale, and immediate use, and contains a couple of minor magical items suitable for a party of fifth level.
