The mimic had chosen an old iron-banded chest in a forgotten dungeon vault and accumulated the possessions of those unfortunate enough to trust it. Once the creature is defeated, coins, gems, and half-digested belongings can be recovered from its adhesive interior. The haul is useful rather than lavish, with enough coin for a fifth-level party to resupply and several clues pointing toward previous explorers who vanished in the dungeon. The strange amber resin left behind by the mimic is not a standard treasure, but it may prove valuable to a skilled artisan or alchemist.
