Its story
This five-foot staff is crafted from polished, fire-hardened mahogany, shaped to resemble a traditional baker's peel. The head of the staff holds a circular slab of enchanted hearthstone that radiates a gentle, constant warmth. Intricate runes representing growth and sustenance are etched into the wood, and no matter how often it is cleaned, a fine dusting of white flour appears in the crevices by the next dawn. It perpetually smells of fresh brioche and toasted cinnamon.
Lore
The Ovenhart family has long held that a wizard's laboratory is only as good as their kitchen. For six generations, this staff has been passed to the family member who displays the most promise in the art of Doughmancy. It was famously used by Auntie Marla Ovenhart to drive off a pack of hungry wolves by animating a batch of sourdough rolls into a swarm of biting buns.
History
Forged by Great-Grandmother Griselda Ovenhart, a halfling who studied under a transmuter but preferred the warmth of a bakery to the cold stone of a tower. She realized that life and magic were both essentially acts of fermentation and heat.
