Its story
A heavy axe with a compact, fist-length hilt of dark steel and warm brass. When dormant, its broad crescent blade folds inward and vanishes into the hilt with a whisper of clicking gears, leaving no exposed edge. A narrow cyan light runs along the grip like a captive spark. When activated, interlocking segments telescope outward and lock into a broad, rune-etched axe head, its cutting edge shimmering with blue-white energy.
Lore
Known as the Folded Thunder, the axe is said to embody the old artificers' creed: power is most useful when it can be carried quietly. Among engineers, its sudden unfolding is a symbol of preparation; among soldiers, a promise that even an empty hand may conceal a decisive answer.
History
Orra Vey forged the axe during the Siege of the Nine Foundries, when defenders needed a weapon that could pass as an ordinary tool until the moment of attack. Her apprentice carried it through the siege and used its thunderous discharge to shatter the enemy's siege engine. After the battle, the axe disappeared from the foundry archives, surfacing generations later in the hands of travelers and inventors.
