Its story
A narrow silver torque shaped like a strand of twisted roots, set with a smooth, milky-white bead that holds a tiny drifting shadow. Its clasp resembles a closed eye. When worn, the bead grows cool near the dead and gives off a faint, bluish gleam in darkness.
Lore
Stories say the bead contains the last glimmer from Nhal's drowned bell tower. Grave-keepers prize the torque as a tool for hearing the dead without binding them, while tomb robbers fear its pale light, which is said to linger over broken graves.
History
Mirelda Voss forged the torque from a silver bell that rang beneath the waves after Nhal sank. She used it to guide the city's lost dead to a quiet rest. The torque later vanished from her flooded shrine and has surfaced wherever graves have been disturbed.
