Its story
A sturdy leather wrist cuff set with a thumb-sized brass instrument housing. Tiny gears rotate beneath its glass face, where a cyan needle traces invisible currents of motion. A hinged lens flips over the wearer’s eye, projecting faint geometric lines across nearby mechanisms.
Lore
Among dungeon delvers, the cuff is nicknamed the Tinker’s Second Eye. Its faintly pulsing lens seems to anticipate the movement of gears, locks, and other contraptions, though it offers no guidance about what might be waiting behind them.
History
Mara Venn built the first cuff for a survey crew exploring a buried clockwork foundry. It helped the crew trace broken conduits and identify failing mechanisms, and later became a favored tool among engineers who could not afford a full artificer’s workshop.
