Its story
Nightingale is a beautiful, gently curved dagger forged from black steel, its edge traced with fine silver inlay that resembles feathers or trailing mountain mist. At first glance, its elegant lines suggest elven work, but close inspection reveals older, distinctly human forms worked into the hilt. When blood touches the blade, the silver lines shiver and a nearly inaudible tremor runs through the steel.
Lore
The Kevari were among the first human clans to settle the Cobalt Peaks. Their skill at moving unseen and striking precisely led their neighbors to brand them natural-born assassins. Centuries ago, they were hunted to extinction. Kevari stories say Nightingale was made not to celebrate killing, but to let its bearer end a fight before a cry for help could summon more bloodshed.
History
Nightingale was carried by a Kevari scout during the clan's long flight through the Cobalt Peaks. It vanished after the last known Kevari refuge was discovered, passing through many hands before its origins were recognized.
