Its story
A blackened-steel socket cups the wearer's missing hand or forearm, its inner lining of supple crimson leather tightening painlessly into a secure fit. At a silent flex of the wrist, a narrow, hooked blade unfolds from the socket like a vampire's fang. Hair-thin red channels run along the blade and pulse faintly when it draws blood. Fine engravings hidden beneath the inner rim resemble workshop instructions, written in a hand associated with Kas.
Lore
Among collectors of forbidden artificer craft, the blade is called the Sanguine Prosthesis. Its crimson channels are said to follow the old principle that a weapon should remember every life it touches. The concealed notes attributed to Kas suggest a more practical purpose: make the wounded dangerous again, then make every victory leave a mark.
History
The armblade began as an ordinary integrated weapon built for a warforged. Someone later adapted its socket for a human who had lost a hand, then added a necromantic edge using instructions secretly left by Kas. The hidden notes describe improvements in careful, coded diagrams, but do not reveal whether Kas intended the blade as a gift, a test, or bait.
