Its story
A heavy signet ring of dark, blued silver holds a smoky crystal lens, crossed by hair-fine lines like a surveyor's grid. Tilted toward the light, the lines settle into the faint outline of a broken seal. The inner band bears a filing mark deliberately scratched away. Though fashioned as a ring, the lens can be removed and mounted in a ground monocle, or set into an official lead seal without changing its magic.
Lore
Known among a few archivists as the Uncovered, the relic is less a judge's seal than a demand to look. It does not identify every truth or compel belief. It sharpens attention to records, testimony, and the moment when public evidence makes a false account impossible to ignore.
History
The ring was recovered from the Ring, where forgotten records lay beyond the reach of ordinary light. Its first known bearer carried a community's redacted account into the hearing of those who had buried it. The filing mark naming that bearer was scratched away, and later custodians preserved the object without restoring the name.
