Its story
Dawn Breaker is an immaculate longsword forged from pale, silver-white metal. Its round pommel bears an eight-point sunburst, and flowing proto-glyphs of ancient Ljósdrottnar run along the fuller, faintly glinting like polished mirror. When drawn, the blade catches light that is not there, as though the first sunrise has been folded into its steel.
Lore
Among the Ljósdrottnar, Dawn Breaker was not a king’s weapon but a promise: no darkness, however vast, could claim the final word. Its glyphs name not a wielder, but the coming sunrise. The inscription can be read by anyone who knows the ancient tongue, though its mirrored gleam grows brightest near creatures of supernatural darkness.
History
According to the oldest surviving accounts, the Ljósdrottnar forged Dawn Breaker at the end of an age-long night. It passed from their high temple to a succession of guardians who used it to break an undead host at the gates of the dawn-city. After that battle, the sword vanished; its appearance is said to herald a crisis in which hope itself is at stake.
