Aethelgard Half-Dragon, Gold Draconic Ancestry
Appearance
Vaelen is a tall, broad-shouldered half-dragon whose polished gold scales have been etched with hair-fine sacred glyphs from brow to wrist. Candlelight travels across him in moving bands, while the joints of his armor creak with the measured sound of a temple door opening. He stands with both heels planted and his weight slightly forward, as though every room were a threshold he has already decided to cross. His hands are immaculate, but the undersides of his claws are darkened by ink, soot, and sealing wax. The unexpected softness of his appearance is a narrow strip of pale blue silk tied around one wrist, a child's devotional ribbon that he touches whenever he believes no one is watching.
“Measured and resonant, with each sentence shaped like a formal decree. He speaks softly enough that listeners lean toward him, then makes the final word land with the force of a temple bell.”

Distinguishing Features
Sacred glyphs are etched directly into his gold scales, forming a visible script that continues beneath his armor at the throat and wrists.
He balances his weight forward whenever he stands still, giving his posture the tension of a drawn bow.
His copper-headed scepter is dented on one side and polished smooth on the other from decades of use.
A narrow strip of pale blue silk is tied around his left wrist beneath the armor cuff.
His breath smells faintly of hot metal and myrrh, even in cold air.
Voice
“A low baritone with a dry warmth beneath its ceremonial weight, carrying the faint rasp of smoke over polished stone”
Clothing
Silk-lined golden plate armor over a high-collared ivory vestment, a black basalt prayer mantle clasped with a copper sunburst, white gloves marked with red administrative thread, and a heavy copper-headed sun scepter
Body Language
Vaelen occupies the center of a room without appearing to seek attention. When waiting, he places one hand over the other atop his scepter and leans forward by a fraction, as though listening for a flaw beneath the floor. He rarely turns his whole body toward a speaker. Instead, his head pivots first, followed by his eyes, creating the unsettling impression that judgment arrives before acknowledgement.
