Kett Szürkan
Fighter, Battle Master
Kett Szürkan
Species
Beast-person, steppe lynx
Appearance
Captain Kett is a broad-faced, tawny steppe lynx beast-person with tufted ears, pale whisker spots, and a coat that lies in dense, brushed-back ripples along her shoulders. She moves with a deliberate, heel-first tread that seems too heavy for a cat, then can turn soundlessly on a boot's edge. When waiting, she balances on the balls of her feet and holds perfectly still, as if the room has become a map she is reading. Her hands are unusually gentle: she smooths creased papers with the same care she uses to check a blade.
“Measured and plainspoken, with clipped consonants and a low, dry humor. She speaks faster when discussing logistics, and slows markedly when making a promise.”

Distinguishing Features
Tall black ear tufts that tilt toward separate sounds.
Pale whisker spots scattered across her muzzle like tiny flecks of flour.
A habit of standing absolutely motionless while everyone else shifts around her.
A brass bell sewn inside her collar, muffled so it rings only against her own throat.
Voice
“A low contralto, steady and slightly rough, with a crisp, dry edge that softens around children and exhausted soldiers.”
Clothing
Dark green brigandine over a rust-red wool coat, both carefully patched rather than replaced. Her cuffs are polished from constant use, her belt carries a folded field map, and a small brass bell is stitched inside her collar where only she can hear it.
Body Language
She plants her boots squarely when making a decision, but shifts her weight toward the nearest exit whenever someone invokes duty as a reason not to explain themselves. Her ears angle independently toward side conversations; her tail gives one short, irritated twitch when a speaker evades a direct question.
