Appearance
Nerys Dovair appears as a tall woman formed from moonlit smoke, hammered silver, and the faint translucence of a deep winter sky. Her body is solid enough to cast a shadow, yet loose threads of vapor constantly peel from her elbows and gather around her ankles. She occupies more space than her narrow frame should allow. Conversations seem to bend around her, and nearby flames lean toward her even in still air. Her eyes rarely meet another person's gaze. Instead, they track doorways, hands, reflections, and the unseen places where a summoner's attention might be hiding. She moves with the careful quiet of someone crossing a sleeping dragon's hoard. The contradiction is striking: her presence is overwhelming, but her gestures are small, domestic, and almost shy, especially when she handles cups, letters, or children's toys.
“Measured, formal, and intimate in equal measure. Her diction is archaic without being theatrical.”

Distinguishing Features
A faint ring of script circles her shadow, changing language whenever someone nearby makes a sincere promise.
Her reflection shows a vast dragon seated behind her, even when no reflective surface should be deep enough to contain it.
Loose strands of her hair drift upward as if underwater, but fall perfectly still when Tovan's name is spoken.
People instinctively leave an empty chair beside her, though they cannot explain why.
Voice
“A low, resonant contralto with a soft rasp beneath it, like a choir heard through stone. Her laugh is startlingly ordinary and brief. When she uses her true draconic voice, every nearby window gathers frost.”
Clothing
A sleeveless indigo robe layered beneath a long, silver-threaded mantle. The fabric resembles wet silk until it catches light, when tiny scale patterns surface across it. She wears a plain iron ring from Tovan's ferryman's pole instead of a royal jewel.
Body Language
Nerys keeps her hands folded at her waist like a court statue, but her fingers constantly count invisible scales. When angered, the space behind her shoulders widens into the suggestion of folded wings. When Tovan is mentioned, she lowers her chin and turns slightly away, as if protecting a candle from wind.
