Appearance
Nkiru Ktag is a narrow, hard-edged woman whose presence seems to pull a room into alignment. Her skin has the matte brown tone of fired clay, usually dusted with pale conductive powder around the wrists and temples. Her jaw is broad and powerful, with square molars that show whenever she chews, speaks through clenched teeth, or laughs at something nobody else finds funny. She moves with abrupt economy, never wasting a gesture, yet her hands sometimes continue tracing invisible circuit diagrams after the rest of her has gone still. She smells strongly of hot copper, bitter tea, ozone, and the faint medicinal sweetness of sleep draughts. She knows about the copper and tea, but insists the ozone is everyone else's problem. The unexpected contradiction is her voice and posture: she looks like an iron nail driven into the world, but when concentrating she folds herself around her work with the delicate care of someone arranging moth wings.
“Clipped, exact, and densely informative. She speaks as though every sentence must pass inspection before leaving her mouth.”

Distinguishing Features
Broad, visibly powerful jaw and square molars that flash whenever she chews or laughs.
A constant scent of hot copper, ozone, bitter tea, and sleep draughts.
Tiny silver beads woven into the ends of her braids, each bead engraved with a circuit symbol.
Her hands are stained blue-white at the fingertips from conductive ritual chalk.
She wears a brass throat pendant that vibrates faintly when nearby wards are damaged.
Voice
“A low, dry contralto with a faint rasp, like a blade drawn across a copper plate. Her volume rarely rises, which makes her anger more alarming rather than less.”
Clothing
A soot-gray engineer's coat reinforced with stitched copper mesh, a high collar, knee-length work trousers, split-toed climbing boots, and a belt crowded with ceramic spools. Her cuffs are lined with white insulating cloth, each one marked by handwritten measurements.
Body Language
She leans toward mechanisms but away from people. Her fingers tap out rhythmic code against her wrist, and she turns her head slightly whenever a wire hum changes pitch. When angry, she becomes perfectly still except for her jaw.
