Daram is a tall, broad-shouldered leonine with a powerful working build rather than a sculpted one. His tawny skin carries a muted bronze sheen, and his dark-gold mane falls in thick, carefully combed ropes to the middle of his back. Small brass rings hold three mane-locks near his left shoulder, each ring dented from years of travel. His muzzle is handsome and square, with a black nose polished almost smooth from habitual rubbing when he thinks. His eyes are deep amber, steady and watchful. His steel plate armor is engraved with repeating leonine faces, their manes picked out in yellow enamel. A red-and-black surcoat hangs over it, divided vertically, with a white dragon stitched across both halves. The armor makes him look like a ceremonial champion, yet his gauntlets are visibly battered and his boots are stained with stable mud. He moves with the careful economy of someone accustomed to carrying heavy loads, placing each foot as though the ground might give way. Within a minute of meeting him, most people notice that he keeps one armored hand resting lightly over a tiny cloth pouch at his belt, as if checking that it is still there.
