Appearance
Brannik is a broad-shouldered mountain dwarf with the compact, weighty presence of a millstone. His beard is dark iron-gray, braided into three thick cords that are bound with strips of faded blue cloth rather than metal. He walks with a slight forward lean, not from weakness but from the lifelong habit of listening to floors, walls, and ceilings through the soles of his boots. His hands are permanently dusted with pale mortar despite frequent washing, and the creases around his knuckles hold a faint reddish stain from kiln pigments. He has a small, soft mouth that makes his severe face look unexpectedly gentle when he is silent. Within a minute of meeting him, most people notice that he keeps one polished child's wooden whistle tucked beneath his collar, though he never blows it in public.

A broad leather tool belt carries masonry tools beside weapons.
Body Language
Brannik keeps his elbows close and his feet planted as if the ground might shift. He touches walls with two fingertips when entering unfamiliar rooms. When angry, he becomes almost perfectly still, but his thumb rubs the worn edge of the wooden whistle beneath his collar. When amused, he tilts his head and blinks slowly, as though testing whether the joke can bear weight.
