Tupin Kesa
Ranger, Gloom Stalker-inspired bounty hunter
Tupin Kesa
Species
Human
Appearance
Tupin looks carved from the wet, hard labor of the jungle. His skin is deep brown and permanently glossy along the shoulders and forearms from years of sweat, oil, and rain. He moves with a forward lean, placing each foot as carefully as a man crossing rotten roof beams. His black hair is cut short except for a narrow, practical braid behind his left ear, threaded with faded red cord. A string of small river shells hangs from his belt, but every shell has been rubbed nearly flat where his thumb worries it. His smile is unexpectedly gentle, almost domestic, which makes the sudden violence of his hands more disturbing.
“Low, dry, and unhurried, with a faint rasp from years of smoke and fever. He pronounces names carefully but clips the ends of threats, making them sound like practical instructions.”

Distinguishing Features
The flattened river shells on his belt click softly whenever he walks, except when he is stalking someone.
The palms of his hands are darkened by permanent stains from plant dyes, bowstring wax, and poison preparation.
He wears a tiny copper cooking spoon around his neck, polished bright only where his fingers repeatedly grip it.
His left knee bends inward slightly, but he moves through tangled roots with startling speed.
He carries a calm, almost tender smile into conversations that should make any sensible person afraid.
Voice
“A soft baritone with a dry, almost tired warmth. He rarely raises it. When he does, the sound is not louder so much as sharper, like a machete striking a stone.”
Clothing
A sleeveless indigo cotton vest stiffened by old sweat, loose brown trousers tied above the ankle, woven reed gaiters, and a rain-darkened cloak made from overlapping palm fibers. His belt is patched with strips of red leather, each patch taken from a different former employer's saddle.
Body Language
He keeps his elbows close to his ribs and rarely turns his back fully toward anyone. When listening, he tilts his head as if judging the direction of distant rain. His hands are usually occupied with a cord, shell, knife handle, or seed pod.
