Raven
Species
Swiftstride Shifter
Appearance
Raven is a lean, feline-featured swiftstride shifter with long limbs, a narrow waist, and a loose, spring-loaded way of moving that makes stillness look temporary. Her tawny skin is dusted with fine russet fur along her forearms, shoulders, spine, and the sides of her face. Rounded catlike ears tilt toward every nearby conversation, while a short, expressive tail often curls around a chair leg or hooks lightly around her own ankle. She grooms the fur at her wrists with almost comical care, yet her clothing is perpetually stained with crushed berries, ash, and spring mud. Within a minute of meeting her, most people notice that she rarely looks at faces. Her attention goes to hands, boots, water vessels, doorways, and whatever living thing in the room appears most uncomfortable. The contradiction is disarming: she looks untamed, but keeps her herbs arranged with the precision of a jeweler.
“Raven speaks quickly but clearly, with a low, musical warmth. Her sentences often begin as jokes and end as careful questions.”

Distinguishing Features
Her feline ears pivot independently toward nearby sounds.
She keeps her wrist fur meticulously groomed despite the rest of her perpetually messy appearance.
Her tail curls around objects while she talks, often stealing a spoon, cup, or herb bundle without conscious intent.
She smells faintly of cedar smoke, crushed mint, wet bark, and hot stone.
She sings fragments of old shifter trail songs whenever she measures herbs.
Voice
“A warm contralto with a teasing lilt, occasionally broken by a soft clicking sound or a sudden purr-like hum.”
Clothing
A sleeveless moss-green wrap coat over a russet linen tunic, practical dark trousers, soft forest boots, and a belt hung with herb pouches, twine, bone needles, and bundles of drying plants. Her clothes are patched neatly but decorated with tiny glass beads shaped like seeds.
Body Language
Raven leans toward people without quite facing them, one ear turned toward the speaker and the other tracking the wider Grove. When amused, she presses her knuckles lightly beneath her nose to hide a smile. When worried, her tail goes perfectly still.
