Appearance
The Bell looks like a tall, narrow figure dressed in an ordinary charcoal coat that is too warm for every season. Its one concrete visual hook is a small brass handbell hanging at the center of its chest, fixed beneath the fabric as though it grew there. The bell never visibly moves, yet its echo remains audible after every silence. The figure stands with perfect stillness while the world around it fidgets, sweats, and reaches for explanations. Its clothes are clean but repeatedly mended at the cuffs, and its polished shoes leave no prints. The unexpected contradiction is that its presence feels violently hot while its hands, when seen, are cold enough to fog glass.
“Usually silent. When it speaks, the voice sounds like the hero's own voice heard through a wall, low and dry, with a second tone beneath it like a distant drum.”

Distinguishing Features
A brass handbell is visibly fixed beneath the fabric at the center of its chest.
Its shadow moves a fraction of a second after it does.
The air around it smells faintly of overheated wiring and scorched cinnamon.
Its polished shoes never collect dust, rain, or street grime.
Voice
“A low, dry imitation of the hero, with a faint metallic overtone and a delayed echo that seems to answer from inside the listener's chest.”
Clothing
A charcoal work coat with heat-warped buttons, carefully polished black shoes, a plain gray shirt, and one brass cuff repaired with red thread. The coat is always too warm for the weather.
Body Language
It occupies almost no physical space, standing close enough to be noticed but never close enough to touch. Its head tilts by a few degrees whenever the hero lies to themselves. When anger rises, its coat lifts as though in a wind no one else can feel.
