Appearance
At first glance, Zsombor Vardek looks like a rangy traveler who has been walking since before dawn, but the eye keeps returning to his breath. It leaves him in three thin, perfectly timed streams, even when he is speaking, as if some hidden metronome lives beneath his ribs. His dark hair is clipped close at the sides and tied at the crown with a faded red thread. His face is narrow, weather-browned, and calm, with a mouth that seems more accustomed to listening than smiling. He moves with an almost irritating economy, placing each foot as though the ground has already told him where it wants to be touched. The contradiction is that his hands are delicate and meticulously clean, while everything else about him suggests mud, rain, and long days sleeping beneath branches.
“Low, quiet, and carefully paced, with a subtle Hungarian-Caucasus cadence that places weight on unexpected syllables. His words become even softer when he is angry.”

Distinguishing Features
His breath falls into three audible, measured streams when he is calm.
A faded red thread is tied around his hair, and his fingers check it whenever he is unsettled.
He carries a small wooden fork carved from three different kinds of Canopy root.
His voice is soft enough that listeners lean toward him, then realize they have stopped speaking.
Voice
“A low, dry voice with a soft Georgian-like musical rise at the ends of certain phrases. He sounds almost gentle until he states an unpleasant fact, at which point the gentleness makes it sharper.”
Clothing
A weatherproof gray-green coat patched with pieces of old trail signs, close-fitting trousers, soft-soled boots wrapped in replaceable barkcloth, and a rust-colored scarf worn inside the collar. His belt carries no visible trophies.
Body Language
He stands slightly angled toward the nearest exit, never squarely facing anyone. His fingers repeatedly check the red thread in his hair, especially when someone mentions family, duty, or mercy. When rattled, his measured breathing breaks into a dry clicking inhale, and he becomes unnaturally still before moving with sudden precision.
