Species

Appearance
Zorya moves like someone used to narrow caravans and uneven roads: quick-footed, slightly crouched, always measuring the ground with a dancer's grace. Her face is an immediate collage of lived weather and careful adornment — a high cheekbone dusted with freckles, a thin silver scar nicking her left eyebrow, and lips forever stained a faint pomegranate red from constant chewing of berry paste. She wears layers of scarves and skirts that clap softly when she walks and a battered leather wrist-bracer lacquered with tiny mirrors and brass studs. Unexpectedly, one of her front teeth is capped with a small gold plate carved with a minute star — a childhood ornament she refused to lose. When she smiles the world tilts toward warmth; when she frowns, she seems to be listening to something only she can hear.
“Colorful and musical; she peppers sentences with small proverbs and half-lines from old songs. Uses concise, plain language when pressed: 'Truth is thin ice; we cross only where ropes hold.”

Voice
“Medium-low, warm, with a slight rasp; singsong cadence when calm, clipped and low when angry or bargaining.”
Clothing
Layered skirts dyed in indigo and rust, a fitted leather vest embroidered with family sigils, many belts holding pouches, a long shawl covered in stitched talismans, and soft-soled boots. She always has a ring of small bells braided into her hair and a wide brimmed, slightly misshapen wool hat for storms.

Keeps hands near her wrists or the tarot deck; she leans forward when listening, and tends to step between threats and children without a second thought.
