Kaelen ibn-Suhail
Master Craftsman
Kaelen ibn-Suhail
Species
Air and water-attuned genasi
Appearance
Kaelen cuts a tense, austere figure whose deep blue stone skin has the matte texture of river-worn slate. His movements are economical and deliberate, as if every gesture has been measured against the pressure in a pipe. Sharp amber eyes flick constantly toward drains, ceiling joints, and dripping valves. His short dark hair is flecked with white salt, though he is not old enough for it to be natural. Thin blue mineral lines shimmer beneath his skin when he feels anger or fear, making him look briefly like a cracked aquamarine statue lit from within. He leaves behind the impression of a sealed door that has learned to walk. The unexpected contradiction is his hands, which are broad, scarred, and brutally strong, yet he handles fragile glass gauges with the tenderness of someone touching an injured bird.
“Low, clipped, and carefully paced, with the dry resonance of words spoken inside a stone cistern. He rarely raises his voice.”

Distinguishing Features
Blue mineral lines shimmer visibly beneath his stone skin during anger, fear, or exposure to the deepest qanat machinery.
A small circular scar of pale quartz surrounds his left eye, the result of a pressure-gauge explosion.
His bronze wading boots are weighted enough to make his footsteps sound like distant hammer blows.
He has a habit of smelling the air before entering a room, searching for mold, metal, stagnant water, or unnatural cold.
The inside of his coat is covered in tiny handwritten flow diagrams, many of them drawn upside down.
Voice
“A dry baritone with a faint subterranean echo, as though every sentence is passing through a long stone conduit.”
Clothing
A heavy waterproof oiled-leather technician's coat, darkened by use and lined with brass pressure gauges, inspection tags, and narrow tool pockets. He wears a salt-stiffened scarf, reinforced trousers, weighted bronze wading boots, leather gloves with ceramic fingertips, and a belt carrying his master ring of deep-vault pressure seals.
Body Language
He stands with his shoulders squared and his hands clasped behind his back, like a guard before a sealed gate. His head tilts slightly whenever he hears water moving through a wall. During moments of stress, his fingers tap pressure rhythms against his thumb, and the blue lines under his skin brighten in pulses.
