Eres Weavegarden
Species
Elf
Appearance
Eres is a slender young elf with the fine-boned delicacy of a porcelain figurine and the restless balance of a street cat. He moves in small, exact adjustments, as though every floor tile were a chess square. His skin has a warm olive-gold cast, but thin silver lines show beneath it around his wrists and throat when magic is near. His hair falls in soft, dark curls that refuse to lie flat, usually held back with a strip of blue glass. His face seems gentle at first glance, almost unfinished, until his eyes lock onto a spell and become startlingly severe. He smells faintly of rain on stone and lamp oil. The contradiction people remember is that his hands are exquisitely careful with magic but permanently nicked and dirty from climbing walls, repairing snares, and eating fruit without washing it.
“Soft, quick, and precise, with rounded vowels and occasional Persian- and Nahuatl-tinged imagery. He speaks more slowly when frightened, as if checking each word for a hidden magical component.”

Distinguishing Features
Silver arcane traceries appear beneath his skin when he observes magic.
His left iris contains a tiny crescent-shaped fleck of cobalt glass.
The copper mirrors on his shoulders reflect spell effects a heartbeat before they occur.
Three fingertips on his right hand are permanently stained blue from an accident with mirror ink.
He has a small burn scar behind his right ear shaped like a keyhole.
Voice
“A young, gentle tenor with a breathy edge. His voice becomes almost toneless while analyzing magic, then unexpectedly warm when speaking to children or animals.”
Clothing
He wears a close-fitted dark teal gambeson beneath lacquered leather armor, each shoulder bearing a small oval mirror set in copper. His gloves are fingerless on the right hand for spell gestures and fully covered on the left to conceal the silver lines beneath his skin. A short ash-gray cloak is stitched inside with hundreds of tiny reflective scales. His boots are soft-soled and wrapped with red cord marked in Warden knots.
Body Language
Eres leans slightly toward anything magical, head tilted as if listening to music beneath ordinary sound. In danger, his shoulders become perfectly still while his fingers continue making tiny tracing motions. When embarrassed, he smooths the left cuff of his glove repeatedly.
