Seshai Niskara
Commoner
Seshai Niskara
Species
Elf
Appearance
Seshai is a slender elf with the compact, weather-trained posture of someone who carries baskets over steep ground every day. Her movements are quiet but never delicate. She steps around puddles without looking down, turns her shoulders through crowded doorways, and constantly keeps one hand free. Her face is narrow and sun-browned across the nose, with a small cleft in her chin and faint dimples that appear only when she is lying. Her long ears are threaded with tiny brass rings that click softly when she laughs. The unexpected contradiction is that her hands are broad, rough, and permanently stained with berry juice, making her look more like a hardworking ferrier than an elegant woodland elf. She leaves behind an impression of alert warmth, as if she has already noticed every exit but hopes nobody will need one.
“Her voice is low, breathy, and quick to soften at the end of a sentence. Sibilants linger gently, especially in words containing s, sh, and th.”

Distinguishing Features
Three tiny brass rings in her left ear click together when she moves quickly.
Her fingertips are permanently stained violet from handling cloudberry dye.
She has a carefully polished blue scarf wrapped around her wrist, despite the rest of her clothes being visibly worn.
She carries her walking staff horizontally across her shoulders when relaxed, like a balancing pole.
She pauses before speaking and draws a quiet breath through her teeth, producing a soft sibilant hiss.
Voice
“A hushed contralto with a dry, amused edge, carrying the soft hiss of wind through reeds. When frightened, she speaks faster and becomes almost musical. When truly angry, her voice drops into a calm whisper that makes every word feel deliberate.”
Clothing
A faded saffron wool tunic sits awkwardly over a green linen shirt, both repeatedly patched with careful geometric stitching. She wears a short traveling cloak whose hem has been weighted with tiny lead beads so wind cannot expose her legs while crossing ridges. Her left boot is newer and lovingly polished, while the right is cracked and repaired with red thread. A small blue scarf, far too fine for the rest of her clothing, is wrapped twice around her wrist.
Body Language
Seshai leans slightly forward when listening, as though catching a distant sound. She rests her thumb against the first brass ring on her left ear whenever she is withholding information. Her smiles arrive crookedly and vanish quickly. In anger, she stops gesturing altogether and folds both hands over the handle of her walking staff.
