Mina
Commoner
Mina
Species
Halfling
Appearance
A small, lively halfling woman with a painter's quick hands and a street thief's alert stillness. Her skin is warm brown with a dusting of pale freckles across her shoulders, and her thick black hair is cropped at the jaw except for one stubborn braid tied with red thread. She moves in sudden sideways darts, as if always avoiding a puddle no one else can see. Her fingers are permanently stained in bands of ocher, ultramarine, and green, while the rest of her is startlingly clean. Within a minute of meeting her, most people notice the smell of linseed oil, sun-warmed wool, and crushed mint. She does not realize the mint clings to her because she keeps fresh sprigs tucked into her belt. The unexpected contradiction is that her clothes and tools are meticulously maintained, but one soft leather kneepad is polished nearly white from years of kneeling in the same position before a wall or canvas.
“Quick, vivid, and conversational. Mina describes people through colors, textures, and shapes, then abruptly becomes precise when discussing maps or family.”

Distinguishing Features
Permanent bands of ocher, blue, and green staining on both hands.
A red-thread braid that she touches whenever she makes a promise.
A leather kneepad polished nearly white in one specific place from repeated kneeling.
She smells of linseed oil, sun-warmed wool, and crushed mint.
A tiny painted swallow is hidden on the underside of her left wrist guard.
Voice
“A bright contralto with a dry rasp from years of pigment dust, usually playful and fast, but suddenly quiet when she speaks about Sami or the flood.”
Clothing
A sun-faded saffron blouse beneath a patched teal vest, a russet skirt divided for easy movement, soft leather shoes, a broad belt crowded with brushes and sealed pigment tubes, and one pale kneepad worn smooth from constant use. Her clothing is practical, carefully mended, and flecked with paint that somehow never looks accidental.
Body Language
She leans forward when curious, tilts her head while studying faces, and gestures with two stained fingers as though arranging objects in an invisible composition. When lying, she becomes unusually formal and keeps both hands flat on a table.
