Species
Sulatar drow
Appearance
Telara is a slender Sulatar drow whose presence is defined less by beauty than by precision. Her ash-dark skin has a dry, finely pebbled texture from years spent handling volcanic dust, hot glass, and abrasive ruin stone. Coppery powder settles permanently in the creases of her knuckles and along the sides of her neck. She moves with an archivist's careful economy, placing each foot as if the floor might contain an uncatalogued trap. When excited, however, she becomes startlingly quick, darting between shelves and scaffolds with the balance of a jungle cat. Her hands are always warm, while her expression is often cool and appraising, an unexpected contradiction that makes her seem simultaneously approachable and difficult to read.
“Her voice is low, dry, and carefully articulated, with clipped consonants and a faint Sulatar cadence. She speaks faster when discussing inscriptions and slower when discussing people.”

Distinguishing Features
Her fingertips are permanently darkened with copper and volcanic dust, no matter how often she washes them.
A thin line of pale mineral deposits traces the base of her throat from years of breathing restoration dust.
She wears a string of six tiny fired-clay tags around her left wrist, each stamped with a date and the name of a lost archive worker.
Her breathing is almost silent when calm, but becomes a dry, measured rasp when she is angry or afraid.
She smells faintly of hot stone, clove oil, and extinguished candle smoke.
Voice
“Low, dry, precise, and faintly rasping, with a tendency to sharpen every final consonant. Her voice becomes unexpectedly gentle when speaking to apprentices or damaged artifacts.”
Clothing
A layered charcoal work robe reinforced with thin plates of lacquered leather, a sleeveless copper-red oversmock, soot-resistant wraps around her forearms, and a belt hung with labeled ceramic capsules. Her clothing is practical but meticulously mended, with every stitch aligned.
Body Language
Telara keeps her elbows close to her ribs and angles her body toward exits, shelves, and sources of heat. She touches objects with two fingers before trusting them. When relaxed, she leans forward with intense interest. When rattled, her breathing becomes audible through her nose and her fingers tap a strict sequence against her thumb.
