Pipit Oskari
Ranger, Hunter
Pipit Oskari
Species
Nutkin
Appearance
Pipit is a white-furred Nutkin no taller than a large housecat, with plush winter fur that looks soft enough to invite a foolish hand. His body is compact and pear-shaped, with an oversized tail that fans behind him like a ceremonial plume. He moves in abrupt, spring-loaded bursts, freezing perfectly still one moment and becoming a blur of paws, tail, and bowstring the next. His muzzle is small, his whiskers are constantly trembling, and his black eyes rarely look at the speaker during conversation. Instead, they track exits, windows, rooflines, hands, and anything that could conceal a blade. The contradiction is immediate: he wears a tiny iron brow-guard and practices terrifying battle stances, yet his ears fold shyly whenever someone calls him adorable. His fur is meticulously groomed except for a permanent tuft above his left shoulder, which he refuses to trim because he believes it makes him look battle-worn.
“His voice is quick, precise, and slightly breathless, with a faint mountain cadence. He tries to lower his pitch when threatening someone, producing a determined rumble that often ends in an involuntary squeak.”

Distinguishing Features
A huge white tail with a gray silver tip that twitches independently when he is annoyed
A meticulously groomed coat interrupted by one stubborn tuft above his left shoulder
A tiny iron brow-guard engraved with three tally marks for confirmed rescues
A habit of staring at ceiling beams and windows instead of people's faces
A pair of unusually long incisors filed into sharp points for emergencies
Voice
“A high, crisp tenor with a surprisingly authoritative rhythm, like a tiny officer delivering battlefield instructions from inside a teacup.”
Clothing
A fitted dark-green leather jerkin reinforced with tiny overlapping plates, a red wool scarf tied in the style of a military sash, miniature bracers, a padded iron brow-guard, and a belt carrying acorn-sized clay bombs. His equipment is carefully fitted, but several straps have been repaired with bright blue thread by a fellow mercenary.
Body Language
Pipit stands on his hind legs when making threats, inflating his chest and holding his tail rigidly vertical. The pose would be imposing if his whiskers were not quivering. When relaxed, he sits on his tail like a cushion and cleans one paw while listening. When he suspects danger, his entire body goes still except for the slow rotation of his ears.
