Appearance
Dziya is a slender young woman whose movements have the careful rhythm of someone carrying a full cup across a crowded room. She walks with her left shoulder slightly forward, not from injury but from years of shielding a lantern flame from wind. Her hands are narrow and exceptionally steady, with amber stains beneath the fingernails from lamp oil and powdered resin. She is quick without seeming hurried, often arriving beside someone before they realize she has crossed the room. Her face is youthful and alert, with a small cleft in her chin and a habitual crease between her brows. The unexpected thing about her is her softness: despite her profession and wary gaze, she has round cheeks, a fond smile, and an almost grandmotherly patience when tending injured birds or repairing broken toys.
“Her voice is low, clear, and lightly roughened by smoke. She speaks quickly when explaining routes or mechanisms, then slows dramatically when making a threat.”

Distinguishing Features
Her left shoulder always leads by half a step, as though she is sheltering an invisible flame.
A brass lantern hook hangs from her belt and is polished far more carefully than any other piece of equipment.
Her fingertips smell faintly of citrus oil, soot, and honey.
She smiles warmly while saying things that would make a seasoned criminal uncomfortable.
A red thread is sewn through the hem of every garment she owns.
Voice
“A low, smoke-soft voice with a quick river-district cadence, warm when speaking to ordinary people and unnervingly courteous when addressing enemies.”
Clothing
She wears a faded saffron tunic beneath a charcoal work vest, close-fitting brown trousers, and soft leather boots wrapped at the ankles with strips of red cloth. Her clothes are neatly patched but never color-matched. Every buckle is polished except one dull iron clasp at her throat, which belonged to her father. Her left sleeve is deliberately oversized so she can conceal a hand crossbow mechanism, lock picks, or a tiny oil flask.
Body Language
Dziya keeps her weight on the balls of her feet and angles her body toward the nearest exit without appearing to watch it. She polishes one brass lantern hook whenever she is thinking. When she trusts someone, she sits with both feet tucked beneath her chair, a surprisingly domestic posture that vanishes the instant a stranger enters.
