Appearance

Flint is a lean, long-limbed shifter with tawny brown skin dusted by fine russet fur along the forearms, jaw, and spine. Their face is human enough at a glance, but the nose is broad and dark, the upper lip lifts slightly when they concentrate, and their blunt canine teeth show whenever they smile. They walk with a subtle favoring of the left leg, not from injury but from years of moving quietly over uneven ground, placing the left foot first to test the earth before committing their weight. Their hands are rough, their nails kept short, and their clothing smells faintly of crushed fern, lamp oil, and rain. The unexpected thing about Flint is their immaculate grooming. Their fur is brushed smooth and their travel straps are repaired with tiny, even stitches, while the rest of their gear looks mud-stained and perpetually one day from falling apart.

Height5 feet 8 inches
BuildLean and wiry, with the compact strength of a distance runner and the narrow hips of someone accustomed to climbing over roots and fallen trunks
EyesDeep hazel with a green ring around the pupils, brightening noticeably when Flint shifts
HairDark umber hair cut short at the sides and left longer on top, with a coarse texture that refuses to lie flat in damp weather
SkinWarm ochre-brown with a faint gray cast at the knuckles and along the jaw

Flint speaks in a low, plain voice and tends to phrase observations as route notes. Their humor is dry, brief, and often arrives after a long pause.”

Distinguishing Features

Their left foot always tests the ground before the right follows, producing a distinctive measured gait.

They keep their russet facial fur brushed smooth even after a muddy journey.

Their smile shows one blunt canine prominently, making their friendly expression seem briefly predatory.

They wear a red neck cloth faded almost pink at the edges, though no one remembers seeing them without it.

When shifted, their fingers lengthen slightly and their posture drops into a quiet, prowling crouch.

Voice

A low, weathered contralto with a soft rasp at the edges, like dry leaves dragged over bark. Flint's voice becomes almost inaudible when they are tracking something and unexpectedly warm when speaking to children or animals.

Clothing

A patched green-brown hooded coat, soft boots wrapped with replaceable leather soles, a faded red neck cloth, fingerless gloves, and a cross-body courier satchel sealed with waxed leaf-shaped tabs. Their belt carries several small wooden route tokens marked with Warden signs.

Body Language

Flint rarely stands squarely toward another person. They angle their body toward the path, keep one foot slightly ahead, and tilt their head as if listening through the conversation. Their ears, shoulders, and nose become more visibly animalistic when excited. When lying by omission, they become perfectly still.
