Director Faelar Pinwell
Species
Rock Gnome
Appearance
Director Faelar Pinwell has the smooth, unblemished skin and agile frame of a young adult rock gnome, but he moves with the slow, deliberate caution of someone crossing a floor that may not exist in every timeline. His hands are small, precise, and perpetually stained with violet ink. His face is narrow and expressive, framed by a neatly trimmed beard whose individual hairs occasionally shift from brown to silver when he becomes upset. His ancient eyes are sunken and tired, with faint rings of gold around the pupils that seem to rotate when he is concentrating. He leaves the impression of a brilliant, exhausted clockmaker who has mistaken the universe for a difficult customer. The unexpected contradiction is his immaculate posture and spotless cuffs, despite the ink splashes, ash marks, and loose calculations covering nearly everything else he owns.
“His voice is soft, dry, and carefully paced, with the faint echo of a much older speaker beneath it. He pauses before important nouns, as though checking whether they still exist.”

Distinguishing Features
A tiny brass clock is embedded beneath the skin of his left palm and ticks backward.
His shadow sometimes moves a heartbeat before he does.
His beard contains several perfectly black hairs that cannot be cut.
A pale circular scar surrounds his right wrist, the remnant of the failed longevity ritual.
His ink stains form different constellations depending on which future he fears.
Voice
“A quiet, courteous baritone with a faint ticking undertone, as if his words are being spoken inside a clock. His laughter arrives half a second late.”
Clothing
An immaculate midnight-blue velvet doublet beneath an ink-splattered cream vest, reinforced traveling trousers, soft mountain boots, a brass chain of calibration lenses, and a weatherproof cloak lined with handwritten probability tables
Body Language
Faelar keeps one hand near his ink-stained quill and the other folded behind his back. He turns his head before his body, as though checking whether the next moment has arrived. During deception, he becomes unnaturally still. During genuine affection, he fusses with a person's collar, sleeve, or hair without asking permission.
